Once i remove the old R folder - do I use installr? Or would it just be best to use the desktop version instead of the web server version? Thanks in advance for any suggestion. Installing package into ‘/home/username/R/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-library/3.5’ (as ‘lib’ is unspecified) Warning in install.packages : package ‘installr’ is not available (for R version 3.5.1) It already has an older version (3.5) on and i have tried using the installer package but i got this error. I have already updated R(3.6.3 - there are some packages that I am using that doesn't like the latest version) on my windows machine already and thought Rstudio would auto update when I restarted it, but it didn't. I have read tons of how-to's on upgrading Rstudio but how do I get it to work on the webserver version.
